Neuro Unity Productions

Neurodivergent people are used to being discussed. In meeting rooms, in medical notes, in press releases and in programmes made about us by people who have never lived a day of it.

Neuro Unity Productions exists to change who is holding the camera. It is the production arm of Neuro Unity, and it develops audio and screen work about neurodivergent lives that is made with neurodivergent people rather than about them.

Everything we make begins in the same place, which is somebody’s real account of what actually happened to them.

What We Are Making

The Neuro Unity Podcast

Real testimony in people’s own voices, recorded with consent and released independently. It is the foundation everything else is built on and it is where we are starting.

Documentary Development

A documentary project in early development, focused on what neurodivergent life actually looks like rather than on whether it is real. More will follow when the work is further along.

Scripted Drama

A drama series in development, set inside the ordinary British institutions where neurodivergent people are quietly worn down. Built from documented lived experience and currently confidential.

Workshops

Small recorded sessions bringing 8 to 10 people together around a single shared experience, such as a workplace process or a school meeting. This is where the material comes from.

Testimony Handled Carefully

Written, informed and revocable consent for every contributor, with the right to withdraw. Nobody’s worst day becomes somebody else’s content without their say so.

Our Duty Of Care

Independent psychological support arranged and paid for by the production rather than offered as a leaflet, plus a named contact for contributors that continues long after anything airs.

Nothing About Us Without Us

Neurodivergent people in the room, in the crew and in the casting, because the people who understand the material should be the ones shaping it. That means no talking heads, no statistics on screen and no voice of authority explaining neurodivergent people to an audience, and it means the accounts are allowed to speak for themselves. We bring access, lived expertise and a tested method for gathering difficult testimony safely, and we work alongside established producers, writers and clinical advisers to get things made properly.

Where Our Work Is Now

Neuro Unity Productions is at the beginning. The podcast comes first, because it can be made now, it belongs to the people whose voices are in it and it does not need anybody’s permission. The documentary and drama projects are in development and will be announced when there is something real to announce.

Share Your Story With Us

The work is only as good as the accounts behind it, and we have never pretended to have all the answers on our own.

If you have sat through a capability process, an exclusion meeting, a diagnosis that arrived 30 years too late or the long stretch of not knowing why everything felt harder than it looked, we would like to hear from you. You decide what is used, how you are identified and whether you take part at all. You can change your mind at any point.

There is nothing about us without us, so please do get in touch at hello@neurounity.org.uk.
