Welcome to the Neuro Unity website. We want this site to be a genuinely useful, welcoming and accessible place for neurodivergent and neurotypical people alike. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you when you use the site.

By using neurounity.org.uk you agree to these Terms Of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

1. Who We Are

Neuro Unity is a not for profit organisation that promotes and champions neuroinclusion. Neuro Unity was founded by Lisa Ventura MBE FCIIS.

2. What This Website Is For

The Neuro Unity website exists to share information, signposting, guidance and resources about neurodiversity and neuroinclusion, to describe the services we offer, and to invite people to work with us as partners, volunteers, champions and ambassadors.

3. Our Content Is Information, Not Professional Advice

This is the most important thing on this page, so we have put it near the top.

The information on our website, including everything in our Knowledge Hub, is provided for general information and awareness only. It is not medical, clinical, diagnostic, psychological, legal, financial or employment advice, and it should not be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

  • If you are seeking a diagnosis or medical support, please speak to your GP or an appropriate qualified healthcare professional.
  • If you need legal or employment advice, please speak to a qualified adviser.
  • If you are in crisis or you are worried about your safety or someone else’s safety, please contact your GP, NHS 111, or the emergency services on 999.

We work hard to keep our content accurate and up to date, but guidance, services, waiting lists and diagnostic pathways change. We cannot guarantee that everything on the site is complete or current at the moment you read it.

4. Using The Site Fairly

We ask that you use the site in a way that is lawful, respectful and safe for other people. In particular, you agree not to:

  • use the site for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose
  • post, upload or send content that is abusive, discriminatory, harassing, defamatory, obscene or otherwise likely to cause distress or harm
  • impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection with Neuro Unity
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers, or any account, system or network connected to it
  • introduce viruses, malware or any other material that is malicious or technologically harmful
  • use automated tools to scrape, harvest or copy content from the site at scale without our written permission
  • use the site or its content to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models without our written permission

We may suspend or withdraw access to the site, or to any member area, if we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.

5. Community Spaces, Support Groups And Meet Ups

Where we host community spaces, support groups, meet ups, events or online discussions, we expect everyone taking part to behave with kindness and respect. Our support spaces are peer support spaces. They are not therapy, counselling or clinical treatment, and our facilitators are not there to provide clinical care.

Anything shared by other members of our community is their own view and experience, not the view of Neuro Unity.

6. The Knowledge Hub And Member Access

Some parts of our Knowledge Hub may require you to register or log in. If you are given login details, you are responsible for keeping them secure and for activity that takes place under your account. Please tell us straight away at hello@neurounity.org.uk if you think someone else has access to your account.

The Neuro Unity Knowledge Hub is kindly sponsored by Komz. Where the Knowledge Hub uses a third party platform to manage member accounts, that platform will have its own terms and privacy notice, and we encourage you to read them.

7. Intellectual Property

Unless we say otherwise, the content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, the Neuro Unity name and brand, guides, training materials and downloadable resources, belongs to Neuro Unity or to the people who have licensed it to us.

You are welcome to view, download and print our content for your own personal, educational or internal organisational use, provided you do not change it and you credit Neuro Unity as the source. You must ask us first if you want to republish, sell, or use our content commercially, or use it as part of a paid training offer.

8. Links To Other Websites

We link to other organisations, charities, partners and NHS resources because we think they will be useful to you. We do not control those websites and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, their accessibility or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything an organisation says or does.

9. Availability Of The Site

We aim to keep the site available and working well, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free from errors. We may suspend, withdraw or change all or part of the site without notice, for example while we carry out maintenance or improvements.

10. Our Responsibility To You

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Subject to that, we do not accept liability for any loss or damage that arises from your use of, or reliance on, the content of this website, or from any decision you take on the basis of it. Please see section 3 above.

11. Accessibility

Accessibility is central to why Neuro Unity exists, so we would rather hear from you than have you struggle in silence. If any part of this website is difficult for you to use, please tell us at hello@neurounity.org.uk and we will do what we can to put it right, and to offer the information in a format that works for you.

12. Privacy, Cookies And Responsible AI Use

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. Our cookie policy explains what cookies we use. Our responsible AI use policy explains how and when we use artificial intelligence. All three form part of your use of this site and should be read alongside these terms.

13. Changes To These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example if our services change or the law changes. The version published on this page is the one that applies. We will always show the date it was last updated.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over any dispute.
